Marketing strategy

At Code we are 'marketing' people through and through. We love to be creative and have a way with words but we're so much happier when our fertile means are led by a solid strategy.

Trying to grow a business without a marketing strategy is similar to setting up a business without a business plan. You may have a mental idea of how you're going to set about the challenge, but over time the lack of planning and defined actions will most likely result in frustration. Ultimately the business is unlikely to grow as desired.

We take 3 steps to implementing and managing a marketing strategy:

1) Marketing audit - the audit examines the 'here and now' e.g. competitor activity, your current marketing activity and internal attitudes towards your brand. The information is analysed and forms the foundation for the marketing strategy.

2) Marketing strategy - the strategy utilises the insight gathered at the marketing audit. It documents essential information e.g. your value statement, competitor activity, your position in the market place and promotional tactics. With the latter we set out a timetabled plan of marketing activity over a 12-month period. The plan details who is responsible for implementing each activity, the associated costs and the desired outcomes.

3) Measurement - our main objective is to ensure your marketing strategy is helping you to grow your business. We review all marketing activity at the end of each month and analyse the source of new business opportunities.
